Living in a country away from home teaches one lessons in perseverance, wisdom and above all, adaptability. Before completing a course in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from the Western Nebraska Community College, Sandhya received a Diploma in Journalism as well as her Bachelors in Arts (B.A.) with Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad. To further satisfy her curiosity to learn, she enrolled herself in a basic Nursing Assistance course to understand the fundamentals and responsibilities of caregiving. Upon completing her education and moving back to India, she immediately began working in the pre-primary section at Riverside. However, previous schools that she has been in conjunction with also include Eklavya (as a Bharatnatyam instructor) and Swastik. She then proceeded to initiate one of the Calorx Pre-Schools and worked as a Principal there. For the past three years now, she has been a core member of the Vasant Pathshala family and serves as an Education Consultant and Project Head. The width and depth of her understanding of early childhood education and its importance in today’s global scenario comes from her participation in various vocational training and professional development seminars ranging from cities such as Denver, Delhi and Bombay.
